Ron Wyffels
BIO
Ron Wyffels is a Full Professor at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where he currently acts as Critic in both Certificate and BFA programs where he teaches drawing and crayonstone lithography courses. Ron’s experience also includes printing lithographs at Landfall Press in Chicago, where he trained under Master Printers Jack Lemon and David Keister. While at Landfall, (1973 – 1975), he benefited from working in a collaborative environment with notable artists: Claes Oldenburg, William T. Wiley, Jack Tworkov, Terry Allen, Chuck Close, Alfred Leslie, Jacob Kainen, and others. In 1975, Ron established Stone Roller, a hand-lithography studio at 676 LaSalle Street, two blocks from Landfall’s Ontario Street shop. There, he was director and Master Printer of editioning the crayonstone lithographs made in collaboration with Chicago area artists. Ron earned a MFA from Montana State University, Bozeman, MT, 1981 and a BFA from the State University College at Buffalo, NY, 1973.
