ARTIST STATEMENT

Many years ago, Fine Arts Studies at Wichita State University with Instructors David Bernard and Peter Johnson provided my introduction to the fundamentals of Printmaking. Currently, I’m working on enhancing my skills with instruction from Doug Billings at Mark Arts Center, Wichita, Kansas.

My Current focus has been using Mixed Media in addition to traditional color print application. I have enhanced my printed work Relief, Intaglio, and Monoprint techniques by adding watercolor, acrylic paint or marker. Mixed media has provided great flexibility in color and value, and is also a source of great joy to me. Described as whimsical or organic, my work is unique and always colorful.
